Eligibility Requirements:

To get enrollment for the University of California Irvine Distinguished Scholarships, Applicants are addressed to check the given requirements:

  • Undergraduate and Master’s degree applicants apply for full-time (lowest  of 12 units in each academic quarter) at UCI.  Doctoral degree applicants must not finish this application, please check with your section or Graduate Division for scholarship opportunities.
  • Minimum 2.5 GPA for undergraduate admissions or UCI cumulative GPA.
  • Applicants must have file a Free Application for Federal Candidate Aid (FAFSA) in order to get qualified for need-based scholarships. The FAFSA can file at Candidates who are not applicable to file a FAFSA and qualify for the AB 540 fee exemption. Waiver will provide a  California Dream Act application if they want to qualify for need-based scholarships. The California Dream Act application can file at
  • Eligible applicants are undergraduate students starting their initial undergraduate’s degree who are either U.S. citizens, permanent residents, or non-citizens.
  • International applicants may enroll for UCI scholarships, however, they cannot file a FAFSA or CA DREAM Act Application. Therefore; they do not qualify for need-based scholarships.

Application Process

How-to-Apply: The Distinguished Scholarship category does not require any application for scholarship. 

No extra materials are required in the choice process for such scholarships. To get these three scholarships, you should apply for fall admission by November 30.
